The Minnesota Twins promoted outfielder Kyler Fedko from Triple-A St. Paul and designated veteran infielder Orlando Arcia for assignment in a roster move to create space. Fedko’s promotion comes after a strong two-season run at the Triple-A level, while Arcia, who has 11 years of MLB experience, now faces uncertainty about his future with the team.
Fedko, a 26-year-old right-handed hitter, has shown consistent offensive production in the minors. Over 426 Triple-A plate appearances, he compiled a .278/.364/.532 slash line with 23 home runs. His ability to hit for both average and power gives the Twins a valuable left-handed platoon option against southpaws. Fedko can also play all three outfield positions and has experience at first base and second base, providing positional flexibility as the Twins look to balance their infield and outfield depth.
Orlando Arcia, who signed a minor league contract with Minnesota in January, has hit .271/.300/.354 in his brief 50 plate appearances with the Twins. The 29-year-old shortstop has spent most of his career as a defensive specialist, playing for the Brewers and Braves. He was part of Atlanta’s 2021 World Series championship team and made an All-Star appearance in 2023. His .240/.292/.369 career slash line in the majors is a solid but unspectacular stat line for a player of his defensive reputation.
With Royce Lewis returning to the majors, the Twins are reshuffling their bench options. Fedko’s versatility and platoon potential could see him see time in left field or as a late-inning defensive replacement. Meanwhile Kody Clemens could shift back to a more regular infield role, likely at second base or third base.
Arcia, who has enough MLB service time to reject an outright assignment, will clear waivers and make a decision on his next move. If he clears waivers, he can either accept an outright assignment to Triple-A or elect free agency. Arcia previously declined an opt-out in his minor league deal when he wasn’t on the Opening Day roster, suggesting he may be open to staying with the Twins organization.
The Twins will monitor Fedko’s performance as he joins the active roster ahead of their matchup against the Brewers on Friday.

The St. Louis Blues have finalized their coaching staff for the 2026-27 season by hiring Greg Cronin and Vaclav “Vinny” Prospal as assistant coaches. Both will join Jim Montgomery’s staff under multi-year contracts. Jeremy Coupal also returns as assistant coach – video after signing a new deal.
