The Chicago Wolves erased a two-goal deficit and pulled off a dramatic 3-2 comeback win over the Colorado Eagles in Game 6 of the Western Conference Finals on Sunday, setting up a winner-take-all Game 7 in Loveland on Monday. Ronan Seeley netted his first career Calder Cup Playoff goal at 15:44 of the third period to seal the comeback and extend the series.
Colorado came out with fire, taking a 2-0 lead after the first period. Jack Ahcan opened the scoring with a power-play goal just 6:09 into the game, showcasing his speed and finishing ability. Valtteri Puustinen extended the lead with a one-timer at 19:14 after a turnover behind the Wolves’ net, giving the Eagles a commanding early advantage.
Chicago responded in the second. Juuso Välimäki cashed in on the power play at 2:07 to cut the deficit in half. The Wolves kept the pressure on, and Joel Nyström tied the game with a slick backhand at 7:03 of the third, using a spin move to beat T.J. Tynan and slip the puck past Trent Miner.
The turning point came late in the third when Seeley, with Noel Gunler setting a screen, buried the game-winner. It was a clutch moment for the rookie, who made the most of his opportunity in the biggest game of his career.

Amir Miftakhov made 36 saves for the Wolves, including 23 in the second and third periods, earning his first playoff start. Miner stopped 19 shots for Colorado, but couldn’t hold off the late surge. The series is now tied at 3-3, with the final game set for Monday night at 9:05 ET.

The winner of Game 7 will face the Toronto Marlies in the Calder Cup Finals. The Marlies, who won the Eastern Conference, are waiting on the other side of the bracket for the Western champion.
Game 7 will be a battle of wills in a hostile environment. The Wolves have overcome a 3-1 series deficit, and now they must finish the job. The Eagles, meanwhile, will be looking to close out their home crowd and advance to their first-ever Calder Cup Finals.
