The Edmonton Oilers’ goaltending struggles have landed three of their netminders on a notorious “All Bust” team following the 2025-26 season. Connor Ingram, Tristan Jarry, and Stuart Skinner were all named on the list by Sean McIndoe of The Athletic, highlighting a disastrous campaign in net for the Oilers and their front office’s questionable moves.
The Oilers entered the season with high hopes but were plagued by inconsistency in goal. After a midseason trade that sent Stuart Skinner and Brett Kulak to the Pittsburgh Penguins for Tristan Jarry, Edmonton’s fortunes in net took a sharp downturn. Jarry played just 14 games before suffering a season-ending injury, and his performance never stabilized after returning from the bench.
Ingram, acquired from the Utah Mammoth in a trade that netted the Oilers a first-round pick and prospect, was expected to be a stabilizing force. He posted a .894 save percentage during the regular season but struggled in the playoffs against the Anaheim Ducks. In a first-round series that lasted six games, Ingram had a .872 save percentage, failing to carry the Oilers past the opening round.
McIndoe wrote, “Yes, both. After extensive back-and-forth debate with myself over which guy deserved the spot, it was decided that we needed to recognize both, the guy Stan Bowman bet a season of Connor McDavid’s prime on in a terrible midseason trade, and the guy they inevitably had to turn to when the first guy couldn’t even hold the job.”
The criticism extended to Skinner, who had been traded to Pittsburgh midseason but failed to make an impact with the Penguins. McIndoe added, “And it’s not like Stuart Skinner was much better in Pittsburgh’s loss. But opportunity cost is real, and we’re still waiting to find out just how much Bowman’s blunder may have cost the Oilers.”

The Oilers also had Darnell Nurse named on the All Bust team, a reflection of his poor plus-minus of -18 and a team-high 27 minutes per game, which led to questions about his effectiveness.
With the 2026 NHL draft and free agency approaching, Oilers general manager Stan Bowman faces mounting pressure. The team’s playoff exit and the failure of its goaltending strategy have left a difficult path to contention in 2026-27. The Oilers must decide by June 15 whether to trade Jarry or buy out his remaining contract.

The Montreal Canadiens executed a calculated and effective plan to dismantle the aggressive style of the Carolina Hurricanes, thanks to a strategy mapped out by Alex Burrows. The Canadiens took full advantage of Carolina’s high-risk approach, converting turnovers into high-quality scoring chances. E
