The Edmonton Oilers had three players land in TSN’s top 10 list for the 2025–26 season, led by the league’s best player, Connor McDavid, and joined by Leon Draisaitl and breakout defenseman Evan Bouchard. The trio helped the Oilers finish the regular season with a strong showing despite a rocky campaign at times.
McDavid came in at No. 1 on the list, as expected, after another historic season. He led the league with 125 points (35 goals, 90 assists) in 82 games. His performance was so dominant it makes it hard to imagine any player catching him in 2026–27.
Draisaitl ranked eighth, a strong showing despite missing time due to injury. He still managed 98 points (31 goals, 67 assists) in 74 games, the second-highest total in the league behind McDavid. His two-way play and chemistry with McDavid remain a key factor in the Oilers' success.
Evan Bouchard made a major leap in the rankings, finishing at No. 10. The 24-year-old defenseman led all blueliners with 95 points (21 goals, 74 assists) in 82 games. He ranked third among defensemen in the TSN rankings behind Werenski at No. 7 and Makar at No. 9.
Only two other teams had three players in the top 10: the Montreal Canadiens with Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, and Lane Hutson, and the Colorado Avalanche with Nathan MacKinnon, Cale Makar, and Martin Necas. That puts the Oilers in elite company for individual talent.

Bouchard’s rise is particularly impressive. He’s now firmly in Norris Trophy conversation and has become one of the most dangerous offensive defensemen in the league. His 74 assists led all defensemen and ranked 11th overall in the league.
The Oilers’ success this season was heavily dependent on their top three. When healthy, they were nearly unstoppable. Now, the focus shifts to the Stanley Cup Playoffs, where McDavid, Draisaitl, and Bouchard will be expected to carry the team once again.
With the regular season in the books, the next chapter begins for the Oilers. They enter the playoffs as one of the most dangerous teams in the league, with a core that just keeps getting better.

The Vegas Golden Knights have shattered the NHL’s unwritten rules this season, proving that winning a Stanley Cup can take precedence over tradition, optics, and risk management. By making bold coaching changes, embracing a physical identity, and acquiring players like Mitch Marner and Carter Hart,
