The United States Women’s National Team has reunited its celebrated "Triple Espresso" trio for the first time since the 2024 Olympic gold medal match. Mallory Swanson returns to the fold alongside Trinity Rodman and Sophia Wilson as the USWNT announced its 26-player roster for two upcoming friendlies against Brazil in June. The team will travel to Brazil to face the 2027 Women’s World Cup hosts in São Paulo and Fortaleza.
U.S. Soccer named the full roster, which includes 26 players from nine different clubs across the NWSL and Europe. Swanson, who has been sidelined from the national team for over 600 days, will rejoin the squad after a strong 2025 NWSL season with the Chicago Stars. Rodman and Wilson, who both played key roles in the 2024 Olympic gold medal run, complete the dynamic trio that combined for 10 goals and 5 assists during the tournament.
The roster features eight defenders, including Tierna Davidson and Emily Fox, and seven forwards led by Thompson, Swanson, and Rodman. Midfielders like Rose Lavelle and Jaedyn Shaw add depth and experience. Goalkeepers Claudia Dickey, Mandy McGlynn, and Phallon Tullis-Joyce round out the squad.
Head coach Emma Hayes praised the return of Swanson and the trio. "It’s fantastic for our team, both on and off the field, to have Trinity and our two soccer moms back on the same roster," Hayes said in a statement. "We need to build connections between players, and with limited time before qualifying, every minute counts."
The USWNT will face Brazil on June 6 at Neo Química Arena in São Paulo and again on June 9 at Arena Castelão in Fortaleza. These matches will be played in two of the stadiums set to host the 2027 Women’s World Cup. The team is preparing for the Concacaf W Championship this fall, where they will compete for a spot in the tournament.
With key players like Naomi Girma, Catarina Macario, and Sam Coffey sidelined due to injury, the current roster will need to quickly build chemistry. The USWNT will look to gain valuable experience against one of the world’s top teams while immersing themselves in the culture and intensity of playing in Brazil.
The team will depart for Brazil on May 30 and is expected to begin training ahead of the first match.
