Texas Tech guard Christian Anderson will enter the 2025 NBA Draft, his agent Aaron Mintz of CAA Basketball confirmed to ESPN. The 6-foot-3 playmaker is currently projected as the No. 16 overall pick in the latest ESPN mock draft. Anderson’s decision marks a major step in his basketball journey as he prepares to make the leap to the pros.
Christian Anderson averaged 18.5 points and 7.4 assists per game during his lone season with the Red Raiders. His ability to control the tempo and create for teammates made him one of the most dynamic guards in college basketball. Anderson shot 39.3% from three-point range and added 4.6 rebounds per game while playing through a shoulder injury late in the season.
At the NBA Draft Combine, Anderson stood out with his shooting ability. He ranked third among all prospects in four different shooting drills, showcasing a smooth stroke and strong off-ball movement. His 40.5-inch vertical leap further highlighted his athleticism and explosiveness, which scouts value in modern NBA guards.
Anderson’s on-court vision and basketball IQ have drawn comparisons to veteran playmakers who thrive in pick-and-roll systems. His elite court awareness and passing instincts should translate well to the next level, especially for teams in need of a secondary ball-handler or a backup point guard with starting potential.
“This is a dream I've worked toward my entire life, and the fact that it's now a real opportunity is something I don't take for granted,” Anderson said. “I'm incredibly grateful for the chance to compete at the highest level in the world, and I'm ready to make the most of it.”
Anderson is expected to work out with several NBA teams over the coming weeks. The NBA Draft is set for June 26, 2025, and Anderson’s stock could climb further if he impresses during pre-draft evaluations.
