The Brooklyn Nets have officially signed forward Trevon Scott to a contract after his strong performance during a 10-day hardship deal. The 26-year-old averaged 8.0 points, 5.6 rebounds, 1.8 assists, and 1.4 steals in five NBA games, including two career-high 11-point outings against the Indiana Pacers and Milwaukee Bucks.
Scott originally joined the Nets on April 2 and quickly made an impact. His best game came on April 7 when he collected four steals against the Bucks. The 6-foot-8 forward showcased his versatility and defensive presence, earning enough trust from the coaching staff to warrant a full contract.
Before his NBA stint, Scott spent the majority of the season with the Long Island Nets in the G League. He appeared in 47 games, averaging 12.0 points, 4.7 rebounds, 2.0 assists, and 1.1 steals per game. His consistency and production in the G League were key factors in his promotion to the main roster.
Scott has a long history in the G League, having played for six different affiliates over his career. His stops included the Salt Lake City Stars, Cleveland Charge, Agua Caliente Clippers, Greensboro Swarm, and Osceola Magic. Across 199 games, he has averaged 10.7 points, 5.6 rebounds, 1.8 assists, and 1.1 steals, making him one of the more experienced G League players in recent years.
The Nets signed Scott under the hardship exception, which allows teams to sign players from their G League affiliate to cover injury absences or other roster needs. With their bench depth and injury concerns, Brooklyn found a reliable and versatile forward in Scott. His contract does not count against the salary cap, making the move a low-risk, high-reward opportunity for the team.
Scott’s addition brings more defensive flexibility to the Nets’ roster. His ability to guard multiple positions and contribute on both ends of the floor gives Brooklyn more options as the season winds down. With the NBA regular season nearing its conclusion, Scott will aim to solidify his role with the team and potentially earn more playing time in the coming weeks.
