The Texas Stars dropped a 4-3 overtime decision to the Manitoba Moose Sunday afternoon at Canada Life Centre, despite rallying with two second-period goals to tie the game.
Manitoba struck first when Colby Barlow opened the scoring with a breakaway goal just 1:57 into the game. The Moose extended their lead 8:29 into the second period when Jacob Julien redirected a shot from Isaak Phillips for a 2-0 advantage. Texas responded quickly with a goal from Cross Hanas 50 seconds later, cutting the deficit in half.
The Stars capitalized on a late power play, scoring with 1:25 remaining in the second frame. Antonio Stranges fired from the half-wall and Dylan Hryckowian potted the rebound to knot the score at 2-2.
Manitoba regained the lead just 4:45 into the third period when Jaret Anderson-Dolan and Samuel Fagemo executed a give-and-go play, with Fagemo scoring a one-timer for the 3-2 lead. Texas answered 35 seconds later as Curtis Mckenzie scored on a shot over DiVincentiis' glove to tie the game again, 3-3.
Neither team could find the back of the net in the final minutes of regulation, forcing the game into overtime. Fagemo completed his two-goal game at 2:12 in the extra frame, securing the win for the Moose.

Poirier finished with 38 saves in the loss while DiVincentiis made 30 stops on 33 shots. Fagemo led all scorers with two goals and an assist, while Anderson-Dolan added a goal and an assist. Hanas and Mckenzie each recorded a goal and an assist for Texas.
The loss drops Texas to 35-21-8-3 on the season, while Manitoba improves to 32-20-11-4. With the overtime point, the Moose remain in a tight race for playoff positioning in the AHL’s Central Division.
