The New York Islanders have locked up forward Liam Foudy for the 2026-27 season, signing him to a one-year, two-way contract. The 26-year-old pending restricted free agent will continue his development with the Bridgeport Islanders in the AHL while remaining under NHL contract with New York.
Foudy put up career-high numbers in the 2025-26 season, leading the Bridgeport Islanders with 26 goals and 47 points in 60 games. His offensive output ranked second on the team and showed significant growth from his previous AHL seasons. Foudy also got a taste of NHL action, playing in one game for the Islanders during the 2025-26 season.
A first-round pick by the Columbus Blue Jackets in the 2018 NHL Draft, Foudy has played in 105 career NHL games across stops with Columbus, Nashville, and now New York. He has tallied seven goals and 15 assists in that time. His AHL career is now at 199 games, with 66 goals and 77 assists for 143 points.
The two-way contract structure allows the Islanders to keep Foudy’s salary cap hit low at the NHL level while giving him an opportunity to prove himself at the highest level. Foudy’s cap hit in the NHL is expected to be minimal, with the majority of his compensation coming from his AHL work with Bridgeport.

Foudy signed with the Islanders on July 10, 2024, after spending parts of the previous two seasons with the Predators and Blue Jackets. His re-signing shows the organization’s continued belief in his development and potential.
Bridgeport opens the 2026-27 AHL season on October 10 against the Rochester Americans. Foudy will look to build on his breakout season and push for more NHL opportunities in the coming year.
