The American Hockey League is hosting its 2026 Team Business Meetings in Grand Rapids, Mich., bringing together over 250 representatives from the league and its member clubs at the DeVos Place Convention Center. The event serves as a key platform for front-office professionals to share strategies and insights in ticket sales, corporate sales, and marketing as the league prepares for the upcoming season.
This year’s meetings feature a lineup of influential speakers, including Scott Howson, the league’s President and CEO, and Toni Will, General Manager of the Kalamazoo Wings. Additional presenters include Dennis Fryer of Hustle Inc., Brian Gainor of Gainor Sports, and Amanda Dennis of Ilitch Sports and Entertainment. These industry leaders will provide insights into driving revenue and fan engagement across the AHL’s 32 teams.
The AHL has grown significantly since its founding in 1936 and is currently in its 90th season. Nearly 90 percent of today’s NHL players have passed through the AHL, and more than 100 Hockey Hall of Fame inductees have spent time in the league. The league’s role as the primary development league for all 32 NHL teams remains central to its identity and success.
A highlight of the event is the annual Vendor Showcase, where over 40 companies specializing in merchandise, ticketing, and technology will present their latest innovations. The league will also honor outstanding business achievements by team staff during the TBS Awards Presentation.

Hospitality partners for the event include Hibu, Mustang Products, XNow, Conquer, Grand Rapids Venues, and the West Michigan Sports Commission. Their support underscores the importance of community and corporate partnerships in driving the league’s growth.
The AHL Team Business Meetings will conclude with a focus on implementing the strategies discussed and setting the tone for the 2026 season. Teams will return to their respective markets with new tools and ideas aimed at enhancing fan experiences and boosting business performance.
